About Me

About Me

I am a guitar teacher teaching in Sutton, South London, close to Cheam, Morden and Carshalton. I teach electric and acoustic guitar to students of all ages and ability levels. I bring 25 years of performance and recording experience to my teaching.

Musical background

I have been playing guitar for 25 years, ever since my Dad unexpectedly presented me with an acoustic guitar one Christmas. I’ve never looked back! In the intervening years I’ve also picked up bass, drums and piano.

In 1997 I formed the blues and soul band Panic with a number of friends at college. We play blues, soul, rock and pop covers very much influenced by The Blues Brothers and The Commitments. We still perform occasionally although we have moved apart geographically over time.

In 2002 during my summer holidays from University I attended a 10 week full time course at the Guitar Institute in London.

In 2012 I decided to pursue a career as a guitar teacher and performer full time.

Guitar Teacher

I think of myself as not just a guitar teacher, but also a music teacher. As well as having Grade 8 on guitar I have studied piano, drums and music theory. This allows me to explore all aspects of music in my own playing and in lessons. I want to make sure my students get a thorough understanding of music itself, as well as a strong technical ability on the guitar.
